Hampstead Theatre in London has teamed up with the Guardian newspaper to bring top-class staging to your living room for the next fortnight, and who knows, maybe longer.
I missed the first offering, Mike Bartlett’s dark comedy , Wild, based on the case of Edward Snowden, the American whistleblower .
But from Monday 6 April at 10am until Sunday 12 April at 10pm you can watch Beth Steel’s Wonderland( 2014) . This epic, witty drama looks at the clashing ideologies during the UK Miners’ Strike of 1984/5 – a turbulent time for the country.
Week 3, from Monday April 13 to Sunday 19 April will showcase Howard Brenton’s Drawing The Line(2013). Directed by the late Howard Davies, the large ensemble tells the story of the chaotic partitioning of India in 1947.

These plays shine a light on turbulent points in our international history. They acknowledge the worst of human behaviour but also celebrate the ingenuity, humour and resilience of the best . “
