Hi Stephanie, what have you been up to?
Hi my love, so I have turned into a domestic goddess in this time and I am keeping busy staying in touch with friends and family. I have also been doing an online show from home as I live above a venue, which will be once a week on Facebook every Sunday from 6pm and is called Stephanie Von Clitz’s Sunday Roast.
What has the response been like?
The response from the first show was lovely and supportive and I am so pleased that I, like many other performers, can provide a little relief and distraction in these circumstances.
How does it compare with performing in person to an audience?
It’s a very bizarre experience because you have no audience response, it’s like having a conversation with yourself but through an online format which is quite unusual but fun and it’s lovely to see people you know tuning in. I’ve always found I have a face for radio and this is what it’s like in a sense but still fun!
Yes I have seen many amazing performers from around the country performing online shows, work out videos, quizzes, dance classes, brunches, bingos etc and it’s sooo lovely to see everyone online performing!
Any tips to keep our readers busy?
Try and do some DIY, stay in contact with people, exercise maybe learn a new skill!
What are your plans for when this is all over?
I’m looking forward to seeing everyone again in person and getting back on the road to entertain audiences.
What do you miss the most?
Not being able to see everyone. Many of us are social butterflies so to not have that social interaction is hard and of course I miss performing full time!
We’re going to really miss Brighton & Hove Pride this year…
I was very saddened to hear that Brighton Pride 2020 has been postponed. For the last four years Candi Rell DQ and I have had the honour of organing the Stage for the Marine Tavern Street Party. In that time we have entertained thousands of people bringing them new performers as well as old favourites. We had started to plan this year’s which was going to be an amazing line up. We look forward to bringing you a plethora of performances for 2021. We are down for now but we are not beat and will strive to be bigger and better in 2021. I would like to thank everyone who made 2019 such a great success and I look forward to working with old friends and making new ones for Brighton Pride 2021.
Any words of wisdom to get us through?
Stay safe, stay strong, stay home, wash your hands and we WILL get through this, I’m also here for anyone if they need to talk/vent. Also, please support ALL venues when this is over.
