PUSSYCAT DOLLS TO HEADLINE PRIDE SUNDAY
Chart-topping, button-pushing mega-group The Pussycat Dolls are reuniting for a UK tour after more than a decade and will top the programme at Brighton Pride on the second day of the festival.
The multi-platinum pop sensation, comprising Nicole Scherzinger, Ashley Roberts, Kimberly Wyatt, Jessica Sutta and Carmit Bachar, returned to music last month with a new single ‘React’.
Paul Kemp, director of Brighton & Hove Pride, said: “For our 30th anniversary we are really excited that LGBTQ+ icons The Pussycat Dolls will be headlining the FABULOSO main stage on Sunday August 2 with a UK Pride-exclusive performance.
“The Pussycat Dolls are the first of many artist announcements to come. Watch this space for loads of great LGBTQ+ performers and allies over the coming weeks.”
The Pussycat Dolls will perform a 75-minute show at the two-day FABULOSO Pride in the Park with the performance marking the first time they have ever performed at a Pride event in the UK.
Pussycat Dolls said: “We are honoured to headline Brighton Pride. It’s such a massive and important event bringing everyone together for one big weekend of acceptance and love, which is what the Pussycat Dolls are all about. We can’t wait to share our show with you all and have the biggest party ever.”
2020 is the 30th anniversary of Brighton & Hove Pride, culminating in a weekend of campaigning, celebrating and fundraising for LGBTQ+ and community projects in Brighton & Hove.
Pride is a celebration of how far the community has come, but is also, say organisers: “An ongoing campaign for those marginalised communities at home and abroad who still suffer persecution on a daily basis. Our fundraising events will ensure that we continue to raise vital funds for our local LGBTQ+ and community projects.
