Brighton’s favourite ukulele band rocks up at the Latest Music Bar on Sunday, December 16 with a festive feast of mashups and mayhem.
BANISH those winter blues with some Hawaiian hilarity, seasonal silliness, special guests and songs old and new!
The band’s repertoire proves that any song can be given the Qukulele treatment. They harmonise, strum and kazoo their way through covers and mashups including Shirley Bassey, The Wombles, and Kylie Minogue, along with a sprinkling of seasonal numbers.
The 9-piece band have had a busy year including performances at Sussex Ukulele Festival, Southdowns Ukulele Festival, Paddle Round the Pier and the Street Choirs Festival, performing on stage at Brighton Dome! They will once again be joining Brighton’s LGBT+ choirs for the annual World Aids Day concert at St Mary’s Church on Saturday, December 1.
Special guest artists this year will include:
♦ GIN AND HARMONICS – London’s favourite gin-based harmony group. Recipients of an Outstanding Performance award in the Voice Festival UK final in 2016, this group of friends are united by their love of a cappella and, well, gin!
♦ THE TWO WRONGIES – a welcome return from this daring double act bringing their unique mix of dance, comedy and general silliness. Expect lunges, rock music and air ukulele!
Compered by STELLA PINT – the teetotal bio drag queen from Scarborough and regular on the Brighton drag circuit (KINGDOM, Female Trouble, King of the Fringe, Stella Pint Presents). Pairing acerbic wit with northern charm, this handsome queen will tie you up in knots and disarm you with her imposing décolletage.
