American singer-songwriter Khalid, 26, has come out as gay on social media, saying he’s “not ashamed” of his sexuality.
The 26-year-old El Paso native – born Khalid Donnel Robinson – took to X (formally Twitter) on Friday evening to address his sexuality, posting a short tweet with a Pride flag and the words: ‘there yall go. next topic please lol.’
‘Wait hope Mr Khalid isn’t GEHHH!’ someone replied to which the singer reposted and wrote: ‘I am! And that’s okay.’
The lovely hitmaker wrote: ‘I got outted [sic] and the world still continues to turn. Let’s get this straight (lmao) I am not ashamed of my sexuality!
He remained active on the site as another commenter wrote: ‘the closet was glass baby. but we accept you. its not about who you love its about your artistry! [white heart emoji]’

Khalid reposted and responded by writing: ‘I wasn’t hiding anything! It’s just not any of your business.’
A different fan shared a snipped of the singer dancing in the music video for his track Satellite.
The follower captioned it: ‘Then there was the LGBTQ anthem he gave us in 2022 but ya’ll kinda slept. Either way.. hate that Khalid was forced out but he wasn’t “hiding” it. He just didn’t need to TELL nobody.’
Khalid appreciated what his fan had to say as he reposted it with caption: ‘thank you!!!! I was never hiding.’
He finished off his eventful night on the site by saying: ‘aight love yall thank yall I’m off this [peace hand sign emoji]’
