The Pink Singers, the London-based LGBTQ+ community choir, will head to Northampton on Saturday, October 28 to join T-Bone Afrika All Stars for a dynamic fusion of Afro-beats and contemporary choral tunes at The Lab.
This gig will be full of energy; think well-known tunes put to a fresh beat and Afrobeat hits, with notes of jazz, soul, and funk. But it’s not just about the music. The Illuminated Kitchen will be in full force at The Lab, serving up homemade pizzas and a glowing range of burgers, wraps and hotdogs, with veggie and vegan options available.
“The Pink Singers are Europe’s longest-running LGBTQ+ choir, and building from our 40th anniversary concert, we are so excited for this one,” said chair Liang Wee. “The Hometown Concerts are an initiative of the Pinkies Communities team and are a way of reaching out to communities beyond our own in London. We had a really successful concert in Liverpool this summer as part of Liverpool Pride.”
The choir has been rehearsing with the band in advance of the concert, and will also be recording with them at Abbey Road Studios in the near future.
