With International Colour Day on Monday, March 21, businesses within Brilliant Brighton Business Improvement District (a not-for-profit organisation formed of over 500 city centre businesses) and Brighton cultural organisations, artists and creatives from the ABCD Cultural Recovery Plan want to celebrate Brighton’s vibrant art scene with a guided colourful art trail led by curator, Richard Wolfstrome. on Sunday, March 20.
The Enliven Brighton Art Trail (a trail, which is usually self-guided and launched in January) features work by local artists encompassing walls, bus stops, lampposts and street furniture throughout Brilliant Brighton – and in an exclusive event on Sunday, March 20, a limited number of trail-goers are invited to take on the trail, with its curator to hear more about the carefully curated colourful artwork.
Learn more about the murals from Dave Pop and Lee Eelus which bring joy to businesses’ walls, hear more about the inspiration behind Josef Cabey and Gil Mualem-Doron’s bright thought-provoking graphics on bus stops, see Kate Forrester’s delicate detailed sea-inspired illustrations on planters, be cheered by Liberty Cheverall’s positivity on litter bins, and uncover more about artists from inclusive, not-for-profit organisation Rocket Artists Studio whose work brightens up lampposts in Preston Street and North Laine.
The trail is expected to take approximately one hour and as spaces are limited, only those with a ticket will be able to join this intimate event.
Shelley Welti, Marketing Manager for Brilliant Brighton, said: “It’s been fantastic seeing so many people take on the self-guided Enliven Brighton Art Trail, since it launched in January.
“We’re delighted to celebrate International Colour Day with the trail’s curator giving a personal guided tour on Sunday, March 20 – we hope it brightens up a Sunday afternoon!”
