“Heartfelt” new film QUEEN TUT out now in the UK on Amazon Prime

A trans-woman takes an aspiring seamstress and drag queen teen under her wings in endearing comedy/drama QUEEN TUT, out now in the UK on Amazon Prime.

Following the death of his mother, Egyptian teenager Nabil (Ryan Ali) moves to Toronto to live with his traditionally minded father. There he meets Malibu (Alexandra Billings) who is on her own crusade to protect her drag night queer haven Mandy’s from demolition.

Waiting to learn how to sew like his mother, he finds a drag mentor in the exuberant Malibu. As Nabil begins to find his true self, the fight to save the club quickly escalates, pitting him against his architect father alongside drag queens and queers against the gentrification-minded establishment.

Directed by Egyptian-Canadian filmmaker Reem Morsi, QUEEN TUT stars acclaimed transgender artist Alexandra Billings, who played Davina in Transparent, as well as appearing in ER, How To Get Away With Murder, Grey’s Anatomy and The Conners.

It also features Ryan Ali (TV’s SkyMed) making his  feature film debut, Thom Allison (Killjoys) and Canadian drag queen Selena Vyle. This is a heartfelt, entertaining coming out drag tale for everyone who is striving to find their authentic self.
