Van Gogh Alive, the globally acclaimed immersive experience, is set to open its doors on Saturday, May 20 at the newly refurbished Grade I and II listed Corn Exchange and Studio Theatre in Brighton Dome.
After a brief delay due to additional testing and verification required by Brighton Dome, the iconic 220-year-old venue is now ready to welcome visitors for this awe-inspiring experience.
Since announcing that Brighton will host the next instalment of this global touring immersive and multi-sensory experience earlier this year, the first few months of ticket sales sold at a record-breaking rate. Now, with more than 35,000 bookings at the time of opening, there is limited ticket availability at weekends for May and June dates. To meet this exceptional demand, Van Gogh Alive’s run at Brighton Dome has been extended to September 3.
Part of the Brighton Festival programme, the multi-sensory experience, created and produced by Grande Experiences, has already captivated over 8.5 million visitors in over 85 cities worldwide, including Manchester, Edinburgh and London. More than 3,000 images projected onto surfaces allow visitors to admire the Dutch artist’s iconic paintings, such as ‘Starry Night’ and ‘Sunflowers’, in a completely new way.
Bruce Peterson, Founder & CEO of Grande Experiences said: “We’ve been thrilled by Van Gogh Alive’s reception from the local community so far, and collaborating with Brighton Dome as it reopens the Corn Exchange & Studio Theatre venues has been a real privilege.
“It’s a joy to be a small part of Brighton Dome’s rich cultural history. Following the short delay in opening due to the necessary certification of building systems, we can’t wait for people to enjoy this incredible experience and to immerse themselves in Van Gogh’s artwork!”
In recognition of the famous artist’s personal struggles with mental illness, Van Gogh Alive’s chosen charity partner is Mind Brighton & Hove who will receive free tickets and fundraising support throughout the run.
Van Gogh Alive will run from May 20 to September 3, 2023. To purchase tickets and learn more about the experience, visit the Van Gogh Alive website, CLICK HERE
