International superstar DJ and Brighton resident Norman Cook starts thousands of runners on their way for the Vitality Brighton Half Marathon 2017. Norman Cook (aka Fatboy Slim) sounded the starting klaxon to get more than 8,000 runners on their way for the Vitality Brighton Half Marathon 2017 on Sunday, February 26.
International superstar DJ and Brightonian Norman Cook will start the Vitality Brighton Half Marathon 2017. Norman Cook – aka Fat Boy Slim, one of the city’s most famous residents, will sound the starting claxon at 9am on February 26 2016 to get the 13.1 mile race around the city underway.

Sussex Beacon organisers of the Vitality Brighton Half Marathon confirm the race is unaffected by news the charity faces risk of closure. The Sussex Beacon, the charity behind the Vitality Brighton Half Marathon, has said that next year’s race will not be affected by today’s announcement that the charity faces the prospect of closure following NHS budget cuts in June 2017.
JustGiving announced as Official Online Giving Partner for HIV charity’s largest annual fundraiser. The owners of The Vitality Brighton Half Marathon, Brighton based HIV charity The Sussex Beacon, have announced JustGiving as the Official Online Giving Partner for the 2017 race which will take place on Sunday, February 26.
With six months to go until race day, organisers for the Vitality Brighton Half Marathon 2016 urge runners to sign up as few places remain. More than 8,000 places have been snapped up so far, and the event looks likely to sell out within the next few weeks.
Bear-Patrol the social networking group raised £15,857.45 for the Sussex Beacon running in the Vitality Brighton Half Marathon in February 2015. Twenty nine members of Bear-Patrol took part in the race to raise money for the Sussex Beacon on Sunday, February 22 with another thirty members volunteering on the day at Mile 6 water station and in the Team Beacon runners marquee. The total is the largest amount Bear-Patrol have raised for a single event from their fundraising.
Despite the threat of bad weather, the rain held off for today’s Vitality Brighton Half Marathon, bringing thousands of people onto the streets of the city to support the 15,000 runners and celebrate the 25th anniversary of the 13.1 mile race, which is run around the city’s landmark sights.
