There was great excitement in St James’s Street last Thursday afternoon, when local charity the Sussex Beacon’s shop window was transformed into a birthday present, bearing a stunning, large bow.
Local HIV charity the Sussex Beacon has presented Mike and Lee (pictured) at The Sussex pub in Hove with a Certificate of Recognition, acknowledging and honouring their outstanding fundraising work for the charity.
As part of a recent workshop at the Sussex Beacon, a number of the charity’s Day Service users created placards for the first #ZeroHIVStigmaDay in Brighton on Friday, July 21. Members of the Beacon team (Administration, Community Services, Facilities, Fundraising and IPU) couldn’t resist a photo opportunity to show them off in our glorious garden!
Local HIV charity the Sussex Beacon is charity partner for the event, which will be a great opportunity to meet the artist and admire his work.
After the Brighton Box event, head to Grosvenor Bar in Hove for an after party with cabaret from the sensational Lovinia Belle.
The Mr Brighton Bear competition, now in its fifth year, promises to be bigger and better than ever, with six handsome and charismatic participants ready to win hearts and the coveted title.
The Sussex Beacon said: “Members of the audience were able to obtain an autographed show poster, in return for a suggested minimum donation to the Sussex Beacon. Everyone was extremely generous, enabling us to raise more than £300!”
The boys at Brighton Bear Weekend (BBW) have announced the full programme of events taking place over four-days in July, which will raise funds for the Sussex Beacon and the Brighton Rainbow Fund.
The Sussex Beacon said: “The Eurovision Party at Duke of York’s Picturehouse was truly incredible! Huge numbers of fans arrived for what was a really exciting, fun evening.”
Jill Nalder, whose life was an inspiration for the TV series It’s A Sin, will be joined at this live event by Daren Kay, Wain Kara Douglas and Adam Zmith
