As a Welsh Gay man, returning home for this superb, fun, engaging LGBTQ Pride event, I felt truly proud to see my county and capital city embracing LGBTQ folk and rights in such a passionate, friendly and authentic way. What a great BIG weekend and what a welcome from the Cardiff gay boyo’s.

August Bank Holiday weekend is only a week away, so if you haven’t already made plans, take a trip to Cardiff and take in its three-day Gay Pride extravaganza – Pride Cymru’s Big Weekend. It’s a landmark year for the Pride Cymru organisers as they move to a new city centre location at Cardiff City Hall Lawns and step up from a one-day to a three-day program, running from August 25 – 27.
Plans for this year’s Bristol Pride Festival events have been released, revealing an exciting week of events to bring the city alive with Pride. As well as established favourites such the Pride Dog Show (Saturday July 1), the LGBT+ Gaming Event at Kongs (Sunday, July 2), and Theatre and Comedy nights, this year also sees an expanded Film Festival take over the Watershed from June 30 – July 9.
American pop icon Belinda Carlisle will headline a new Friday night concert on the Harbourside as part of this year’s Pride Festival. Taking place in the Bristol Amphitheatre on Friday, July 7, Belinda will be joined by Eurovision winner and Walking on Sunshine singer Katrina, of Katrina & The Waves, and electro pop duo Avec Sans.
Thousands are expected to join The Women’s March on London on Saturday 21 January, as part of a wave of international action timed to take place on the first day of Donald Trump’s US Presidency.
