The Greater Brighton Cycle Challenge on Sunday, July 1, 2018 will be a celebration of cycling and the world-class environment that we live in. Local homeless charity, Brighton Housing Trust (BHT) has teamed up with The Living Coast to create a family event that all ages and abilities can get involved in and enjoy.
A council-owned building will be used as a shelter for people sleeping rough in the city this winter. A large room in the centrally located Brighton Centre entertainment and conference venue is currently being prepared.
Homeless charities in Brighton & Hove join together this winter to raise awareness of how to help people living rough on the streets. Brighton Housing Trust, St Mungo’s, Pavilions, Equinox and Nightstop are highlighting what support is available in the city for people sleeping rough and offering advice on how best to help those in need.
In their first fundraising party of the year EDL will be raising money for Brighton and Hove Housing Trust’s First Base Day Centre which offers a range of much-needed front line services to support over a thousand people who are sleeping rough or are insecurely housed in Brighton & Hove.
Brighton Housing Trust is running a new LGBTU group to provide support and encourage friendship for the Brighton and Hove LGBTU community who are clients of BHT or who are homeless, living in temporary accommodation or “sofa surfing”. The group is held at First Base in Montpelier Place every second Wednesday from 5pm to 7pm.
The Brighton Housing Trust are carrying out an online consultation survey on the housing experiences of LGBT people in Brighton and Hove. The survey is only 10 questions long and can be completed in a few minutes.
