Crew Club youth project needs new trustees

Graham Robson January 6, 2014

Crew ClubThe Crew Club, a registered charity committed to providing opportunities and a safe place for the young people of Whitehawk and East Brighton, is seeking new volunteer trustees to join the Board for the New Year.

Trustees should live in Brighton & Hove and are expected to use their skills, knowledge, networks and experience to help the Board to reach sound decisions in the governance of the charity and the running of the club as well as fulfilling the statutory duties of a Charity Trustee.

The Board is particularly keen to develop its expertise in:

• Business Links & Management

• Fundraising & Social Enterprise

• Human Resources

Simon Burgess, Acting Chair of Trustees, said: “What the Crew Club does is vital in giving young people a positive start in life.

“The fact that the club is a grass roots organisation that has come from the community it serves makes it particularly valuable. But these are challenging times in which to secure funding from a range of sources so we want to widen even further our knowledge, contacts and experience so that we can build on the club’s success for the sake of young people in the area.”

The role is voluntary and unpaid.
