STONEWALL, the lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans (LGBT) equality charity, has announced a list of the 20 most inclusive law firms for LGB staff.

Baker & McKenzie top the list, which is populated by law firms that entered Stonewall’s latest Workplace Equality Index.

Stonewall’s Workplace Equality Index is a benchmarking tool to measure organisations’ efforts to tackle discrimination and create an inclusive workplace for lesbian, gay and bisexual employees and forms Stonewall’s annual Top 100 Employers.

The list of law firms was launched at an event hosted by Simmons & Simmons which, as a Stonewall Star Performer, has graduated the index and now works with Stonewall on pioneering workplace initiatives.

Chris Edwards, Client Group Manager at Stonewall, said: “It’s great to celebrate the law firms that are leading by example in progressing the diversity and inclusion within the sector.

“Eight years ago, no law firms featured in the Stonewall Workplace Equality Index and it’s hugely encouraging to see so many firms now taking the steps to ensure that their employees can be themselves in the workplace.”
