Learn to dance the Argentinian Tango in Hove

Queer Tango, Brighton

Queer Tango Brighton are running a five week tango course for absolute beginners on Thursdays, from 7-9pm, starting February 27 to March 27 at The Dock Cafe, Wilbury Villas, Hove.

Queer Tango is for those who are interested in dancing the Argentine Tango without the constraints of traditional gender roles. You are taught to lead and follow which enables you to choose which role you would like to dance, as and when you desire.

Queer Tango is a growing phenomenon across the world with annual festivals taking place in Germany, Denmark, Mexico and Argentina.

The queer tango movement permits not only an access to tango for the LGBT community, but also supports existing possibilities for heterosexual dancers — women learn the lead and men learn the follow. Studying both roles, women and men enhance their communication and sensitivity.
