Proud2Be, a nationwide organisation supporting all LGBT people to be proud of who they are, will be holding the first annual rural Pride festival at Totnes Civic Hall, Totnes, Devon, on Saturday, September 14.
The event, which is to be opened by the local Mayor and Peter Tatchell and sponsored by Devon and Cornwall Police and The Big Lottery Fund, will be open to the whole town, celebrating diversity and equality in the local community, and will feature many stalls and activities. There will also be a cafe area featuring a diverse LGBT library for people to enjoy on the day.
