James Brooks who is lead contributor for Pride Matters, said:

“Given the huge improvement in equalities over the last decade with protections written into law and a legal recognition of our relationships, then it is understandable that some people, including those within the LGBT community, might think that we’ve won the fight for freedom.

“However, dig a little deeper, keep an eye on the news, read some of the comments on news websites, and it becomes clear that there is still a long way to go within the UK and abroad.”

This years umbrella campaigning theme for Brighton Pride is Freedom to Live.
