Pride LGBT Film Festival at Duke of York’s

Eyes Wide Open, a Pride LGBT Film Festival exploring Queer Cinema, will be taking place at the Duke of York’s Picturehouse and Duke’s at Komedia in July and August.

Titles, which have been chosen to celebrate queer icons, trailblazers, activists, and encourage healthy discussion be it with the director or cast or with academics or simply great fans of the work, include:

• The biographical documentary of Divine, I AM DIVINE, plus a showing of John Waters’ feature film Female Trouble on Friday, July 19 at Duke of York’s from 10pm.

• Bette Bourne: It Goes With The Shoes on Saturday, July 21 at Duke’s @ Komedia at 1pm.

The Times of Harvey Milk on Thursday, July 25 at Duke’s @ Komedia at 6.30pm.

• Trans Pride film, Tomby, on Friday, July 26 at Duke’s @ Komedia at 6pm.

• The LGBT Shorts Programme, featuring an insight into Brighton Pride 1994, told through home video and including the 500-strong march from Hove Peace Statue past the Clock Tower, on Thursday, August 1 at Duke’s @ Komedia from 6.30pm.

• A rare showing of Judy Garland’s final film, I Could Go On Singing, on Sunday, August 4 at Duke of York’s at 1.30pm.
