The café, located in the Community Village and market area, will be serving affordable hot food, cakes, hot and cold drinks to the public.

The café will be run entirely by volunteers and every penny raised will go directly to help Lunch Positive provide its services for people with HIV at their weekly lunch club.

The Community Café at Pride is the charity’s main annual fundraiser and this year involves twice as many volunteers, members and supporters delivering the service on the day.

The café has a seating area and is also providing an information point for the Access project, and a point for other community groups to display their information.

Gary Pargeter, Volunteer Project Manager, said: “The Community Café at Pride is a hugely important community and fundraising event for us, and we hope as many people as possible will come along to get their food and drink and support us.

“We estimate that a total of around 200 hours will be given by volunteers in preparing and staging the café. The food we serve is all prepared from fresh ingredients, affordable and good value. We’ll have lots of volunteers serving and are also available to answer questions about what’s going on at the park and the Access project.

“Please spread the word and come and join us in the Community Village.”

The café is situated in the Community village and market area in Preston Park.
