Author, director and performer Neil Bartlett, OBE, who was awarded an Honorary Doctorate of Arts by the University of Brighton in July this year, will give a public lecture entitled Inventing Lives as part of the new Inspire lecture series at the Sally Benney Theatre on Monday, November 25 at 7.30pm
In this lecture Neil talks about the creative process behind the reclamation and investigation of queer history in his fiction – the acclaimed novels Ready To Catch Him Should He Fall, Mr Clive And Mr Page and Skin Lane.
In particular, he’ll be talking about the role that historical research has played in the writing of his new novel set in Brighton, The Disappearance Boy, to be published in 2014.
This lecture is organised and presented by the LGBTQ Lives Research Hub.
