Rising stand-up comic Sheraz Yousaf brings his new one-man show, The Pursuit of Manly-ness (sic) to The Brighton Fringe on May 12, 13 and 14 at Lamb Comedy. The show follows Sheraz’s recent appearances at The Dave Comedy Festival and on The BBC Asian Network (still available on iPlayer).

The show will appeal to everyone in the entire universe and addresses the role men should take in modern life, leaving them with either a specific set of instructions as to how to achieve manliness, or take away any useful knowledge they may have previously had.

Sheraz, who has been performing stand-up for three and a half years both in the UK and USA, has developed the show drawing on his own manly pre-comedy careers and vocations which have included personal training, club motorbike racing, and – most manly of them all – software testing in I.T.

Sheraz says: “The role of the modern man is subject to a great deal of confusion giving rise to some great comedy material to which every audience member can relate.  Is it drinking beer?  Is it opening doors? Is it building muscle?  Is it none of these? Is it all of them? I’ll be asking more incisive questions and exclusively sharing my very own partly inept and partly thought-out answers only with those who part with the £5 ticket fee in a bid to discover ‘true manly-ness’.”
