Ian Richards is a UK based HIV positive artist currently on a three month residency in Leipzig (Germany).
Ian is developing artwork around HIV and is looking to collect thoughts and opinions from people living with HIV to help inform new artwork for his project Needs Discussion.
George Montague, affectionately known as the Oldest Gay in the Village was the recipient of an award at the inaugural Attitude Pride Awards held at the Grosvenor House Hotel on the eve of London Pride, Friday, June 26.
The event was hosted by actor Alan Cumming fresh from hosting the Tony’s earlier this month in the USA. Other personalities present included Barbara Windsor, Harry Potter star Matthew Lewis, N*Sync’s Lance Bass, Blue’s Anthony Costa and Duncan James and singer Conor Maynard.
George Montague a Brighton Pride Ambassador in 2013 and author of “The Oldest Gay in the Village” received his award from Barbara Windsor.
A total of twelve awards were presented to people, who have faced real challenges with strength and dignity and/or helped LGBT people in the community without fanfare or fame.
Other winners on the night included:
♦ Jonathan Blake: An original member of Lesbians & Gays Support the Miners (LGSM), featured in the hit film Pride.
♦ Asifa Lahore: A Muslim drag queen whose glamorous aura is coupled with a serious drive for LGBT activism.
♦ Duncan Craig: Founder and CEO of Survivors Manchester, supporting male survivors of sexual abuse and rape.
