Poseidon-T: Franze: Book Review

81517L9zj4L._SL1500_

“Poseidon is the star of his rugby team and his fans love him. Especially the young Gonzalo; who dreams of meeting Poseidon in more than oneway. One day, at the big game, his dream comes true, only it’s different than he thought because aliens are attacking earth….”

If you don’t know Franze’s work then check him out, he’s the coolest Urban gay graphic novel illustrator and his drawings are as hot as they are touching or funny. There’s no porn in this story, it’s more of a love story so no heaving Tom of Finland erotica here but it’s a well drawn and well observed construction none the less.

He’s got a real gift for capturing gay men in all their silly glory and in Poseidon he’s chosen a very fun story familiar to us all, the crush we all had on the hetro hunk of our dreams.  Franze’s last work was ‘Black Wade’ the superbly saucy pirate saga and here he does the same with Sci Fi monsters commix. His illustrations keeping enough tension to drive the story on and enough tongue in cheek humour to please graphic novel fans; Franze satirises these well loved genres with a loving eye whilst still keeping it erotic enough to interest us hard to please gay boys, oh and he’s funny too.

There’s a cool anime for it here:
